With a name like Hudson Furniture you’d never guess that some of the most beautiful lighting also comes out of this incredibly creative brand.

Each piece appears to be freshly cut, yet polished to perfection. The bedframes boast oversized headboards that appear to be sliced directly from the tree itself, while the rest of the piece is minimalistically formed to create a beautiful contrast.

The lighting comes in a variety of sizes and shapes with some of the designs leaving me quite speechless. The Strip Sconce is definitely one of my favorites.

Designer Steve Cousins recently sent me a link to a website containing an incredible collection of hand-made furniture.

Each piece is uniquely fashioned with beautiful wooden textures, colours and notchings. My favorites: the table, clock and storage sections. The grandfather clocks are especially unique.

The company is called BDDW and is owned and directed by painter & sculptor Tyler Hays.

Now that we have little Grace, I am always excited to find great design in the baby and toy market.

This Noah Owl Box is created by a self-taught furniture designer & builder who goes by the name of Mod Mom (aka Kiersten Hathcock). All of her pieces use eco-friendly birch plywood, non-toxic paints, water-based stains and low-voc, water-based finishes. I especially love in this piece, the hand drawn and cut veneer cut-outs.
